The Arapahoe Volunteer Fire Department was founded in June of 1963 and was the second Fire Department Incorporated in Pamlico County NC. Throughout the past 45 years, there has been many changes not only to the Fire Department, but to the Town of Arapahoe. We have seen the "building boom" hit this area with leaps and bounds, the influx in population, and the rising call volume of Emergency Services. Since 2005, we have been serving as Arapahoe Fire-Rescue Inc. providing Emergency Medical Care at the NC- Emergency Medical Technician Basic level and Vehicle/Machinery Rescue also. We currently house 2 Engine Comapnies, 1 Squad/Multi-Purpose Truck,1 Aerial Truck, and a Yamaha Jet-Ski for quick response on the Water. We are on track to lower our ISO rating within the next 2 years and are always looking for Volunteers.
